Zynga raises almost $1 million for Haiti

Zynga the developers of Farmville & other Facebook app games have raised $900,000 close to a million with the help of the FarmVille players.

Farmville made a special announcement to all players on Monday night.

“Wow! We’re humbled by your generosity. Y’all have contributed over $900,000 to the Zynga Haiti Relief Fund! If we can exceed $1 million in donations before 11:59 pm PT Tuesday, we’ll give all Farmers a surprise! It’s your last chance – so head to your farm and purchase some White Corn!” (FarmVille)

If you have not yet contributed you can purchase virtual goods that includes White Corn seeds for FarmVille and Haitian drums for Mafia Wars with real cash. Zynga will donate 100% of all proceeds to The World Food Program for the Haiti Relief Fund.
